Dr. Michael Railey is a Licensed Psychologist with over 32 years of professional experience, including more than 25 years at the doctoral level. At Bay Wellness Group, Dr. Railey leads our psychological and neuropsychological evaluation services, bringing exceptional clinical depth and a broad background spanning military, federal, academic, and clinical settings.

background & training
Over three decades of experience across military, federal, academic, and clinical settings.
Dr. Railey completed his doctoral education at Florida State University, including an APA-approved pre-doctoral internship with the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Florida A&M University in 1987 and was simultaneously commissioned as a Tank Platoon Leader in the U.S. Army Reserve. He later earned a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from FAMU on fellowship before pursuing his doctorate at FSU.
His career has spanned an exceptionally broad range of roles and settings. He has served as a Senior Psychologist with the Florida Department of Corrections, a Behavioral Health Officer-in-Charge at multiple Army deployment readiness centers, a Fee Basis Psychologist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Compensation and Pension Office, a Behavioral Health Consultant for the United States Army Recruiting Command, and Executive Director of a community mental health agency. He also served as a Clinical Psychologist and Training Supervisor within the Clinical Psychology Internship Program at Tripler Army Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii, and as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling Program at Florida State University.
Dr. Railey is a combat veteran of the United States Army, having served in Bagram, Afghanistan as Behavioral Health Unit Officer-in-Charge with the 94th Combat Support Hospital. He brings that same dedication, rigor, and respect for service to his clinical work at Bay Wellness Group.
