how we got here
It started with a problem that kept showing up.
Bay Wellness Group was founded in 2021 by Jonathan G. Rollins, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and U.S. Army Purple Heart Veteran, as Bay Counseling and Wellness.
From the very beginning, a pattern kept emerging. Patients would come in for therapy and mention medical concerns that were going unaddressed. People managing anxiety, depression, or trauma were also dealing with chronic health conditions, and none of their providers were looking at the full picture. The mental health system and the medical system were operating in completely separate lanes, and patients were left trying to coordinate everything themselves.
Jonathan had seen a version of this before. Military service teaches you that outcomes improve when people operate as a coordinated team with a shared mission. That same principle belonged in healthcare. It just was not there yet. So he built it.
What started as a single counseling practice grew steadily as the need became clearer. Psychiatry was added in 2022. In 2025 we became Bay Wellness Group with the inclusion of primary care & urgent care which made us a fully integrated care clinic. Psychological testing was just added this year.
Today Bay Wellness Group is one of the only organizations in Northwest Florida offering counseling, psychiatry, psychological testing, primary care, and urgent care within one connected system of care.

Your providers communicate with each other
With your consent, your therapist, psychiatrist, and primary care provider share context and coordinate directly. You do not have to be the messenger between them.

Mental and physical health affect each other constantly. No provider at Bay Wellness Group treats you as a collection of isolated symptoms.

As your needs change, we can adjust your care from within the same organization. No starting over, no referrals into the unknown.

Jonathan G. Rollins, MS, LMHC, CCMHC founded Bay Wellness Group out of a direct clinical experience with how fragmented the healthcare system can feel for people who need it most.
Before pursuing graduate training in clinical mental health counseling, Jonathan served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart. That combination of military service and clinical work shaped everything about how he built this organization: with accountability, structure, a clear mission, and a deep respect for the people he serves.
Bay Wellness Group is, and will remain, clinician-owned and clinician-led.
