Structured Support for When Weekly Therapy Isn't Enough
An 8 week program designed to meet you with the level of care your healing actually requires.
Sometimes, once a week is not enough. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a higher level of structured mental health treatment while allowing you to return home each day, stay connected to your life, and build real skills for lasting change.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR OPTIONS
More than therapy.
A structured path forward.
An Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured form of mental health treatment designed for individuals who need more consistent, frequent support than traditional outpatient counseling provides. It sits between weekly therapy and inpatient care, offering a meaningful middle ground for those who need more structure without leaving their daily lives behind.

Behavioral health and psychiatry working together on your behalf.
At Bay Wellness Group, our IOP is part of our broader integrated care model. When clinically appropriate, our clinical team can coordinate your therapeutic treatment with psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and other services within the same organization. You do not have to manage that coordination yourself.
As you approach program completion, our team works with you on a plan for continued care, whether that is ongoing outpatient counseling, psychiatric services, or other supportive options. Our goal is to help you maintain the progress you have made and keep building on it.
common questions
Honest answers before you reach out.
-
Our IOP is structured as an 8-week treatment program, with participants attending three days per week. Individual treatment needs and progress are considered throughout the program.
-
Traditional outpatient counseling generally involves individual therapy sessions once per week or less frequently. IOP provides more intensive, structured therapeutic support multiple days each week.
It can be an appropriate option when weekly therapy alone is not sufficient, but inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment is not necessary.
-
IOP allows participants to continue living at home and maintaining many of their regular responsibilities. However, attendance is required three days per week, so adjustments to work, school, or other commitments may be necessary.
Our team can discuss program scheduling and participation expectations during the initial assessment.
-
Many health insurance plans provide benefits for intensive outpatient mental health treatment. However, coverage varies depending on the insurance provider, individual plan, medical necessity requirements, and any required authorization.
Our team can help review your insurance information and discuss potential coverage before treatment begins.
-
You can contact Bay Wellness Group directly to inquire about our Intensive Outpatient Program.

When clinically appropriate, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and coordination with prescribing providers may be incorporated into an individual's overall treatment plan.
Psychiatric services are determined according to individual clinical needs.

Confidentiality and respect for others are essential parts of our program. Participants are expected to respect the privacy of fellow group members, and our clinical team follows applicable professional and legal confidentiality requirements.
While the program establishes clear confidentiality expectations, the privacy of information shared by other group participants cannot be absolutely guaranteed.
-
As participants approach program completion, our clinical team works with them to develop an appropriate plan for continued care.
Depending on individual needs, recommendations may include ongoing outpatient counseling, psychiatric medication management, or other supportive services.
Our goal is to help participants maintain progress and build on the skills developed during treatment.
